Institute of Psychology, University of Gdańsk and Institute of Psychology, Silesia University are pleased to invite you to participate in International Conference Psychology-Consumption-Quality of Life. Vth edition. The topic of this year’s conference is „Values in the context of scarcity and excess”.
The mission of the conference is to discuss important current issues linked with socioeconomic changes, especially in regard to culture of consumption and materialism, welfare and happiness of the modern society. During the conference we will try to answer the following questions: How do scarcity and excess influence subjective well-being, happiness and quality of life of both individuals and societies? How do economic and cultural changes related to scarcity and excess influence choices and behavior of consumers and citizens? How does exposure to materialistic culture influence social welfare of poor and rich people? How does exposure to money influence social life in the context of scarcity and excess? What is important for effective economic socialization and does it influence happiness of children and adolescents?
The conference will be held on 23-24 September 2016 in Gdańsk, the city of Solidarity Movement.
